Creating Your Dream Life!
If you could have any life you wanted, what would it look like?
You know, if you ask 1000 people that question, you're lucky if you get 1 or 2 people to give you a definite, accurate answer.
Most stutter and stumble their way to an answer.
Why is that?
Well, pure and simple is that many people don't know how to create a picture of their ideal life. Most people are going through the day to day of their lives - and that includes business owners and entrepreneurs - living (just about! ), but not CREATING.
In my experience, most have given up the idea of living an ideal life. It's not that they've never thought about it, as most have got into business for themselves for precisely that reason, an ideal lifestyle.
But, somewhere along the way, the dream has become diluted and replaced by the routine, mundane, daily grind.
I'm suggesting that you revisit your reasons for getting into your own business in the first place. Or, if you're thinking about starting one, think about the reasons for getting into it.
Do you want the freedom of being your own boss, no-one ever telling you what to do again?...
Do you want to spend more quality time with your family and loved ones?...
Do you want to never have to worry about money again by having so much of it that you just don't know what to do with it all?...
Do you want to work anywhere in the world without having the headaches of any type of overhead - except your laptop?...
Do you want to show all those who said you'll never make anything of yourself by becoming so successful that the smugness is wiped clean from their faces?...
Do you want to bury the demons that you've created about yourself and what you're capable of?...
Do you want to walk in to any shop and say to the salesperson "how many colours does it come in?... I'll take them all! "...
Do you want to approach all those you owe money to and pour out stacks of twenty and fifty pound notes from a packed briefcase and say to them, "you count it! "... Reasons, whatever they may be for you, are the most powerful motivators for getting things done.
And so it is with creating your ideal life.
Suppose you were pinned to the wall and told that you'd better produce an outline of a spectacular life... and live it... what would you do?
I know our lives aren't as dramatic as that; there's no one gunning for us to produce, or is there?
I'd submit to you that there are a number of pleading hearts who are doing exactly that - pleading with you, praying, hoping, wishing that you provide for them the life you've always promised them.
There is an 'ideal life re-engineering programme' that all of us can do. And, its essence comes from the architects and engineers of the world.
In fact, this idea is wonderfully illustrated in the powerful book by Steven Covey - The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
The principle or habit I'm talking about is BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.
All that means is you reverse engineer what you want, and work backwards from the outcome.
Simple enough, right?
Well, as tongue in cheek as that sounds, it is simple, if you allow yourself to work this little plan.
Let's make this practical so you can then take what you gather and apply it to your own IDEAL LIFE.
Okay, let's lay the blueprint foundation to our perfect life. Stay with me on this and make your own notes as we go along. It'll help you to reinforce your own thinking of what you feel is your ideal life.
Say your day begins with you stepping out of your near exclusive home, envied by most, out of most people's financial pocket, you take a jog around the secluded private area where you live. There's lots of greenery. The air's as clean and as pure as you remember from when you were a child. The sun is beaming, as it does for practically 9 months of the year.
You arrive back home. You get yourself exercised in your purposed built gym that's equipped with the latest exercise technology, as well as with the latest hi-fi music system that'd rival anything you'd get at the movies.
You're then ready for a hearty breakfast with the family. There's no rush. There's no panic. Just a serene tranquility. All the family go about the business of their day. You're at hand to drop anyone who needs a lift.
Then, it's time to check the emails, the fax machine, the post. There's orders, enquiries, cheques, cash, all needed to be banked, cashed, spent. You earn more in a day than most people do in a month!
You then get to your laptop for the next 4-5 hours, totally loving the Internet business you have. There's no long daily commute. No flying to business meetings. No boardroom squabbles. You're the boss. People are coming to you. Though, not at a mad, frantic pace. You've scheduled your day, week, month ahead. You know EXACTLY what your workload and what lies ahead.
You also look at the SPECIAL GOALS LIST that's nearby your laptop. It contains taking the family on International holidays, 4 of them per year. The top notch sporting events where you have front row seats for. The small, and not so small BUYING INDULGENCES that you've got planned.
As you look out from the veranda, you see two gleaming cars in your driveway; one a 911 Porsche Turbo. The other, a 4x4 Mercedes. You look back to the laptop and smile, comfortably, genuinely.
You then swivel a full 360 degrees in your deep, soft, comfy leather executive chair and hear yourself say... WHAT A FLIPPIN' LIFE!
That there, are the seeds, the genesis of what creating your ideal life is all about.
You have to be able to see it, smell it, feel it, hear it before it can all become real. You've got to picture your ideal life in your minds eye, every single day until it becomes a reality for you.
One thing's for sure; if you don't know what your target is, how do you expect to hit it?
My suggestion to you is to start to think how exactly you would want to live the rest of your life.
As far as I know, we're not given a second chance to go around this block called LIFE. It's now time to claim what's rightfully yours.
But, you've got to name it in order to claim it.
Don't work on the assumption that you'll busy yourself in this project or that project and then say, "I'll see what type of life I'll lead in accordance with what happens with this project".
No.
What you're doing there is setting yourself up for failure.
When the engineers and architects decide to build a monument, a structure, a piece of architectural brilliance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they don't say 'let's put this here,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that there, this over here... and then see what it looks like,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! '
They have a blueprint in mind already. The plans are meticulously put together. The genius is in the detail. In the process. In working to an end outcome.
Can you now see how, if you've not got what you've wanted till now, it's because you've not set it up in your mind before hand. There's nothing for the mind to work towards.
Did you know that you've an army of mental workers who are ready and waiting for your instructions?
It's true.
If you don't believe me, set a goal with the end in mind established. Feed it to your brain on a regular and consistent basis. Then,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ask your mind to help you achieve what it is you want.
You'll be amazed at what transpires.
Trust me.
It's as if all the forces of the universe are collaborating together to help make your END IN MIND a reality.
The beauty of this process is once you taste the success of it all, you'll never go back to living life in the way you've done previously.
The fruits of success will taste so sweet that, soon, you'll automatically live every facet of your life WITH THE END IN MIND.
